Nicholas and duo partner pianist Mimi Solomon will launch The Gut Instinct Chamber Music Project, a series of three concerts at UNC Chapel Hill which feature the department's collection of historic keyboard instruments and the music of Amanda Maier, Pauline Viardot, Fanny Mendelssohn, and others. Nicholas is also excited to appear twice as an artist at the Belvedere Series in Richmond, VA, and to return to Richmond in March with the Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia.
Following last season's Inspired by Bach tour featuring a full cycle of Bach’s Six Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin in conjunction with his own interpretive works of visual art at venues including the University of Michigan, Penn State University, Florida State University, UMBC in Baltimore, New York's St. Ignatius of Antioch, and the GreenHill Center for North Carolina Artists, Nicholas will present Inspired by Bach in Richmond in January 2025 as part of the Belvedere Series.
As a core member of the New York-based early music group The Sebastians, Nicholas will appear in the group’s concert programs throughout the 24-25 season, including a New York performance of Pisendel's Violin Concerto in G Minor, as well as on series including Capital Region Classical (Albany), Chamber Music Detroit, and in Atlanta at the American Bach Society Biennial.
Nicholas continues to be in demand as a guest concertmaster and ensemble leader; in addition to serving as a section leader at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. and Early Music New York, Nicholas will team up with TENET Vocal Artists in a January 2025 southern tour of "Doubletake," a program exploring 17th-century Italian and English works for two sopranos with two violins and continuo. Nicholas will also return as a guest artist and leader at the Staunton Music Festival in November 2024, as well as April and August 2025.
Nicholas also serves as the Director of the Luby Symposium, a weeklong chamber music institute at UNC Chapel Hill, where he will perform again in May 2025, as well as the MYCO Chamber Players, a chamber music organization he co-directs with pianist Mimi Solomon.
